Bored Ape Yacht Club member and Tonight Show Host, Jimmy Fallon explained why he chose to purchase Bored Ape #599 AKA Bored and Breezy.
Fallon, who’s been a member of the BAYC since November, had BAYC member and Heiress Paris Hilton on his show last night and decided to tell her why he purchased his ape.
“It reminded me of me a little bit because I wear striped shirts. I’ve worn these heart sunglasses, because my daughter, just as a joke. They have them and as a joke, I’ve put them on. So, I’ve done this.” Fallon says while pointing at his bored ape. “And I love yacht rock and being breezy. So, I’m like yeah. And I like the blue.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Fallon was onboarded to the BAYC by crypto payment company Moonpay in early November.
Fallon first told the world that he was a member of the BAYC during an interview with crypto artist Beeple. ““I just got my first NFT,” Fallon told Beeple. “Through Moonpay I did my homework. Moonpay is like Paypal but for crypto and I bought an ape.”
Fallon’s ape is Bored Ape #599. Bored Ape #599 is a six-trait cream fur ape with a sea captains’ hat, a navy striped tee and heart sunglasses. Moonpay purchased Bored Ape #599 on November 8th for 46.6 Eth or $216,000 USD. The company then transferred the primate to Fallon.
