LOGISTICS OF THE METAVERSE: Garga Says Center Island Otherdeeds Are Rare Collectibles, But Travel Will Be Easy For Everyone!

Location will be a flex on the Otherside, but it won’t impact players’ ability to travel across the metaverse or reach the Clubhouse, according to Yuga Labs CEO Garga!

After Bored Ape Yacht Club member TTony purchased his second Center Island Otherdeed in two months, and with Phase One of Otherside’s highly anticipated launch set to begin later this month, the logistics of the metaverse were the talk of the timeline this weekend, with Apes like Dort, Frostyz, and Nova chiming in.

Seeing the posts and speculation, Garga aped into the conversation Monday morning to say that he sees owning a Center Island Otherdeed as more of a flex, like owning a rare NFT. He also emphasized that the Otherside will be massive once it’s fully up and running, and that getting around with ease will be essential, no matter if a players deed is on the otherside of the world or on the Otherside’s Center Island.

“Lots of thoughts on this over the weekend. My two cents: the map serves as a collector axis for people that want to acquire rare deeds,” he tweeted. “Wanting to collect a deed adjacent to the center is like wanting to collect a blue beams or gold ape. They have inherent rarity, verifiable on chain, independent of any utility downstream. In terms of transportation within Otherside, we need to make sure everyone can visit and invite people to their own deed. With a 100,000 of them, that means fast-travel and being able to visit your buddies deed with the click of a button is a must. Or else you'd be hoofing it for... days on end :) But say you're not visiting a buddy, and you want to check out someone's Otherdeed moreso at random. Fair bet that the deeds closer to the center care a whole lot more and probably have more going on, and would help discoverability of those Otherdeeds.”

Apes, Voyagers, and more can expect to learn more details about Otherdeeds and how they’ll function later this year when Yuga Labs does its Winter update, which Garga previously said would focus on users' Otherdeeds.

“We're focused on two releases this year," he teased earlier this year.  “June release for persistent world... and a Winter release focused on Otherdeeds with a fast follow for resources starting to be emitted.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow all things Otherside as the metaverse becomes a reality this summer. Stay tuned for updates!

With its procedurally generated slopes, no two runs in Slope Game are ever the same. This randomness keeps the gameplay fresh and challenging, encouraging players to return for “just one more try” to beat their previous scores slope game
