MATINEE IN THE METAVERSE: Yuga Labs Premieres Its First Ever Mini Documentary And There Wasn't An Empty Seat In The Otherside!

A star was bored on the Otherside today as Yuga Labs rolled out the metaphorical red carpet in the Nexus, transforming the Starfield Gallery's Pulse District into an open air amphitheater for the premiere of its first ever mini documentary!
On Friday, Bored Ape Yacht Club members, Voyagers, ApeChain collectors, curious onlookers, and more filled every theater seat, and even broke out their lawn chairs, for a midday matinee showing of Yuga Labs’ Year One’ movie, celebrating the first year of the always on Otherside.
Every seat in the house was filled from the top row to the bottom, with an overflow section directly in front of the screen that was standing room only.
Once the movie got rolling, viewers were taken back to the launch of the always on Otherside last summer through never before seen interviews with Yuga Labs CEO Michael Figge, Otherside Lead James Hall, members of the Other Games team, and more.
The roughly 15 minute documentary centered on just how much Otherside has evolved over the past year, transforming from a place where people could simply walk around and chat in a Bubble as their Apes or Voyager robots into a full-fledged Ready Player One-style metaverse featuring hundreds of avatars, weekly events, creator experiences, artist collaborations, and much more.
The film also highlighted some of the biggest milestones from Otherside's first year, including its partnership with Amazon, Its first Voyager Robot drop with artist Daniel Arsham, and of course the growth of the Otherside community that shapes the culture of this new world every single day.
But the best is yet to come.
At the end of the documentary, Figge left viewers with an exciting glimpse of what's ahead, saying that Year Two of the persistent Otherside will be anything but boring.
“The jump we made from a year ago to today I think we are going to make an even bigger jump a year from now,” he said.
The documentary is now playing on a continuous loop inside the Starfield Gallery's Pulse District in the Nexus, and anyone and everyone in crypto is invited to ape in and check it out.
