Things were any but boring in Berlin last night as 40 Meebits and Voyagers stretched their voxel legs and explored a new Meebits themed Otherside island dubbed ‘Meetropolis’ as their characters!
On Saturday, Yuga Labs hosted its second Otherside focus group with an emphasis on the Meebits community and their place in the metaverse!
In an eight-part Twitter thread, Yuga Labs announced that they have rebuilt and optimized the 20,000 character collection for Otherside and gave the community its first look at the new Meebits!
Along with showing off the Meebits new look, attendees of last night's event, got the chance to !Meeb around a new Otherside island built atop a Steppes biome called ‘Meetropolis’ as their voxel characters!
Following the event, Voyagers told the Gazette that they had a great time exploring Otherside again and that they’re excited for the future of the platform.
“I feel more bullish than ever on Otherside, especially considering the level of feedback gathered after the play test,” BAYC member Dim.Eth said. “The team is listening very closely to the community.”
Mega Koda holder Kodama.Eth echoed Dim.Eth’s sentiment after the event and said that Otherside was in good hands with Yuga Labs’ new Otherside General Manager, Eric Reid.
“Some alpha, Yuga knows the importance of free to play,” Kodama said. “Otherside will enable everyone to have a great experience.”
Following last night's focus group, Yuga Labs CEO, Daniel Alegre, took to Twitter and thanked attendees for their help!
"Thank you to all who participated in our event in Berlin yesterday," he said "Getting real time developmental feedback is invaluable. Getting a glimpse of what Meebits on Otherside will be like."
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Alegre recently announced that Yuga Labs was going all in on the metaverse.
“We are going all-in on our Otherside strategy,” Alegre said in a recent company email. “Every ongoing digital connection will be part of and reinforce the Otherside evolution. This encompasses gaming, entertainment experiences, interactive social connections, and a range of unique initiatives coming from Eric Reid and team.”
At the time of this article’s publication, the next time that Voyagers will be able to break on through to the Otherside will be next month during Yuga Labs’ ApeFest 2023 digital experience.
