MEET THE CANDIDATE: 0xBuffalo Is Running For BAYC Community Council'sClubhouse and Events Liaison

0xBuffalo is the Co-Founder of Fuck It Friday productions and has working with Apes and companies across the Web3 space to put together in real life events around the world! Now he’s running to be the Bored Ape Yacht Club Community Council’s first Clubhouse and Events Liaison where he hopes to throw events that are true to the core values of the BAYC!

This year’s BAYC Community Council elections are underway, and Apes are taking to the polls to elect a Council Co-Lead, who will act as the committee's co-leader, a Made By Apes Liaison, who will be responsible for finding ways to support and connect Made By Apes businesses, and a Clubhouse and Events Liaison, who will be responsible for setting up events between local BAYC communities and Yuga Labs!

One of the four Apes running for the Clubhouse and Events Liaison role is 0xBuffalo, who believes that the best Ape events make members feel like they are part of something special!

To find out more about 0xBuffalo’s candidacy, his BAYC story, and why he’s the right Ape for this job, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

1. What's your Bored Ape story? What should the community know about you?

“My entry into the club was one of self-discovery. It was a natural overflow from DeFi. I started with NBA Top Shots and some art on Nifty Gateway, then stumbled into a Clubhouse room with a bunch of people making ape noises. A few months later, I was searching for my forever Ape, which I bought for my birthday in September 2021.”

2. What’s been your favorite moment of being a BAYC member?

“There have been so many amazing moments it’s hard to count, from making connections to meeting lifelong friends who I now call family.”

3. What would you like to accomplish as the BAYC Council Co-Lead?

“This council seat requires a Community-First Approach to ensure events reflect the Club’s core culture and ethos. This starts by building a foundational blueprint with regional communities and Made By Apes at the heart. We need to unite the community by enhancing accessibility and equity for all members worldwide, with a commitment to greater transparency and open communication.”

4. What makes you the right Ape for this role?

“Since ‘Fuck it Friday,’ I’ve spearheaded collaborations with over 50 projects and companies across two continents and three countries, all 100% community-funded, without special council grants, AIPs, or relying on external funding. This journey, driven by our community’s overwhelming support, showcases our collective power to create impactful and cost-efficient events. It’s this experience that motivates me to deepen our shared experiences within the Club and the broader Yuga ecosystem, creating resonant echoes throughout our space. My years in the skateboarding industry, alongside crypto/web3, have been transformative, each shaped by a shared passion that brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds. These years have taught me the virtues of patience, alongside a deep understanding of how to leverage culture and build upon it. Additionally, they’ve sharpened my skills in forging genuine connections and recognizing the critical importance of maintaining a strong reputation.”

5. What makes a good BAYC event?

“Accessibility, community, lore, and feeling like you’re part of something exclusive and special.”

6. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“Electing me means choosing a dedicated, hands-on creative—a passionate community member who not only actively engages in but also has a proven track record of creating community events and projects. With the resources and authority this council position provides, I am poised to drive our community towards a future where our culture is not just preserved but also celebrated and expanded upon, ensuring it thrives for generations to come.”

The window to vote in the BAYC Council election is currently open and Apes can cast their votes without a wallet connection via Tokenproof between now and March 15th at 11:59 P.M. PT here:
