MEET THE CANDIDATE: Phil Is Running For BAYC Community Council Co-Lead!

Building relationships and inspiring others are both key pillars of Bored Ape Yacht Club member Phil’s life. Since May 1st, 2021, Phil has been building relationships and connecting with community members around the swamp, and he even started Bored Media with some online frens. In his real life, Phil inspires kids as a teacher and coach. Now, he wants to bring his relationship-building and inspirational skills to the BAYC Community Council as its next Co-Lead!

This year’s BAYC Community Council elections are underway, and Apes are taking to the polls to elect a Council Co-Lead, who will act as the committee's co-leader, a Made By Apes Liaison, who will be responsible for finding ways to support and connect Made By Apes businesses, and a Clubhouse and Events Liaison, who will be responsible for setting up events between local BAYC communities and Yuga Labs!

One of the five Apes running for the Co-Lead position is Phil who wants to make sure that every member feels heard while amplifying the work that Apes around doing around the Web3 world!

To find out more about Phil’s candidacy, his BAYC story, and why he’s the right Ape for this job, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to him for an interview. Check it out below:

1. What's your Bored Ape story? What should the community know about you?

“I stumbled upon BAYC from the Top Shot streets. I took a couple days to gather feedback and at the time it was quiet. I minted my PFP the night they sold out while putting our son back to sleep. Instantly connected in the discord and the rest is history. I’ve never listed my pfp and have loved the community since day 1.”

2. What’s been your favorite moment of being a BAYC member?

“My favorite memory is all of the amazing relationships I’ve made with club members over the past three years. Some of those relationships even turned into Bored Media Group and Bored TV. I love entertaining and informing the swamp every week through our stream and other content. Community is king.”

3. What would you like to accomplish as the BAYC Council Co-Lead?

“I would like to be a constant sounding board for the club. Community thrives by being heard and working together for a common goal. This has nothing to do with floor price for me. This is all about building deeper connections within the club and amplifying those picking up shovels daily. Community. Culture. Communication.”

4. What makes you the right Ape for this role?

“I am the right ape for this role because this is what I do on a daily basis. I work hard to help inspire and amplify students and athletes daily as a teacher and coach and as a member within the swamp. I love jumping on calls, interview builders, and streaming with members to better understand the community and to ensure people feel heard and appreciated. I already do this. I’m made for this.”

5. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“I would urge folks to look into each member. I’m not going to have the most followers and I’m not going to pay for ads, but I will show up daily like I have since minting my ape. Stay Bored.”

The window to vote in the BAYC Council election is currently open and Apes can cast their votes without a wallet connection via Tokenproof between now and March 15th at 11:59 P.M. PT here: https://bayccouncil.tokenproof.xyz
