Monday was moving day for the Monkees as the 2,001 hand drawn primates officially migrated from ApeChain to Ethereum mainnet.
“The Monkees have been released on ETH,” the project tweeted. “Same tribe. New jungle. Zero brakes. Monkees are the key.”
Every wallet holding a Monkee on ApeChain was airdropped its matching Monkee on Ethereum, no one had to do anything other than hold.
As the Gazette previously reported, Monkees minted on ApeChain back on October 26, 2024, just one week after ApeChain launched, for 1 $Ape each.
From there, they became the fine art project of ApeChain and even made honorary Monkees out of some of the biggest names around the swamp, like Gordon Goner and Grateful Ape.
Following today’s migration to mainnet, Monkees are currently sitting at a floor price of 0.05 ETH, or about $115 USD, according to OpenSea.
