Speculation is off the blockchain today after members of the Yugaverse discovered a mysterious MOCA Coin Twitter account, hinting at a new governance token aiming to co-create the largest Web3 cultural economy.
On Wednesday, Bored Ape Yacht Club Member Subvert stumbled upon a Gold-checked Twitter account with a single post that appeared to hint at a Mocaverse governance token based on its name.
“Is this $MOCA alpha,” Subvert tweeted. “Came across this cool-looking website that links to the @MOCAFoundation Twitter account, which has a gold checkmark + protected & has 1 post. We knew it was inevitable but is a @MocaverseNFT token coming soon?”
The Moca Coin Twitter account, @MOCAFoundation’s bio states that “$Moca is an omni-chain network token created to reimagine the web3 cultural economy by empowering unity in culture, governance, and growth.”
Along with this bio, the Moca Coin account also shared one tweet on January 3rd, 2024, writing, “One coin to unite all cultures $Moca.”
Yesterday, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Animoca Brands Chairman, Yat Siu, and asked if he, Animoca Brands, or the Mocaverse were affiliated with this account. Siu’s reply was a tears of joy emoji.
The Gazette followed up by asking Siu if that emoji was a yes, to which he replied, 'Haha, I'm afraid that is all I can say' (accompanied by a tears of joy emoji)."
Based on Siu’s reply, it seems that the account is affiliated with him, Animoca Brands, or Mocaverse.
