The tale of tails came to an end Friday as the Writer's Room overwhelmingly decided that Bored Apes do not have tails.
“The Writer’s Room has spoken,” Jenkins the Valet tweeted. “No tails it is. That’s a wrap on “tail-gate.” Thank you to all of the community members who spoke up and who voted! Long live the Writer’s Room. Long live BAYC.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the Writer’s Room had a bit of controversy last week as holders told the Tally Labs team that Bored Apes do not have tails.
“As many of you have seen, we’ve posted a number of art previews leading up to the release of our novel set inside the @BoredApeYC," Jenkins tweeted last week. “The art has made us smile. It’s been amazing to see the novel come to life visually this way! But one thing has been made clear to us. Scientifically speaking, apes don’t have tails… and you’ve let us hear it! We took artistic liberties to add tails with our artist so that we could illustrate apes in fun ways. Our POV: If apes have coin eyes, trippy hats, and degen personalities, then why not tails too?”

After today’s announcement, the Jenkins and the Tally Labs team will be reworking the art to remove the tails from the apes.
