ON THE BALLOT: AIP-295 Wants To Require Wallets To Hold 1 $Ape To Vote At The ApeCoin DAO

The saying around the ApeCoin DAO is that you only need one $Ape to patriciate and this Ape Improvement Proposal wants to make that even truer!

AIP-295 titled “Protect Snapshot - Must have 1 ApeCoin to vote,” is a basic voting system proposal written by ApeCoin DAO contributor Bigbull.

If passed, AIP-295 will make it so wallets casting their coins in future AIP votes or DAO elections need to hold at least one $Ape to participate.

“It aligns with the values of the Ape community which often states you need a minimum of 1 ApeCoin to participate,” Bigbull wrote. “This is the requirement for the Discourse official channel. The slogan is “1 Apecoin = 1 vote” Not “0.0001 Apecoin = 1 vote”

Bigbull does not anticipate the implementation of AIP-295 to cost the DAO anything and they expect that the ApeCoin DAO Administrator could implement this change via the Snapshot in less than a day.

The window to vote on AIP-295 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO contributors have until next Wednesday, August 9th, to cast their coins.
