ON THE BALLOT: BAYC Member Rida Wants To Bring Ape Animations And UGC To ApeChain With DashBO Platform!

If you’ve spent any time around the swamp, you’ve probably seen Rida’s 3D-modeled Ape animations lighting up your timeline. Now, this notable Bored Ape Yacht Club member has an Ape Improvement Proposal (AIP) on the ballot that aims to put easy-to-use animation tools in the hands of every BAYC member, unlocking a world of possibilities for user-generated content!

BAYC members first received their Apes' 3D files back in April 2024, and many quickly realized that striking a pose or creating content with their primates wasn't easy due to a lack of animation experience. To solve this, Rida and his team at Inceptive Studio began working on a content creation platform that’s beginner-friendly, thrives on contributions from seasoned animators, and encourages everyone in the swamp to submit ideas and get involved.

This effort led Rida to propose AIP-498, titled “DashBO UGC Platform: Democratizing Content Creation,” to bring this animation dream to life.

But that’s not all. DashBO goes beyond traditional content creation by offering users the ability to transform their creations into dynamic face filters, AR experiences, and avatars for games or the metaverse. With our emphasis on democratizing content creation and leveraging users’ NFT profile pictures, DashBO is not just a platform – it’s a community where imagination knows no bounds.”

 

In his AIP, Rida explains that DashBO will give BAYC members—and eventually Mutants, Meebits, Kodas,  MoonBirds, and those outside the swamp—the chance to bring their 3D models to life. Users will be able to pose their NFTs, create memes, and unlock a world of facial expressions perfect for any occasion.

“DashBO offers a multitude of preset animations for users to choose from,” Rida wrote. “Users can select their favorite animation, add camera movement and background audio, and then export it directly to social media or download the video to edit on their preferred video editing software.”

Alongside these easy-to-use posing tools, DashBO is already working with 40 Made By Apes brands and Yuga Labs to bring real-life merch and items into the digital world, making it easy for Apes to support their favorite brands around the swamp.

 

“To empower MBA brands, users can leverage our UGC system by creating avatar poses with their avatars featuring MBA products at no cost to the brands. Users can animate and pose their avatars with products labeled with the brand name and MBA License Number, if available.”

In total, Rida and Inceptive Studio are asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $418,000 USD to cover development, integration, infrastructure, maintenance costs, and operational expenses.

 

In exchange for funding, the DashBO platform will be powered by $Ape, run on ApeChain, and feature free token-gated features for everyone across the Yugaverse, with premium services priced exclusively in $Ape. DashBO will also implement a revenue share model, sending 10% of its gross revenue from sales back to the ApeCoin treasury, according to Rida.

The window to vote on AIP-498 is currently open, and ApeCoin DAO contributors have until Wednesday, October 3rd, to cast their votes on this proposal.
