ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Aims To Keep $Apes' SeedPhrases Safe & Secure In High-end Notebooks

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to keep $Apes’ seed phrases safe and secure in state-of-the-art notebooks!

AIP-241 titled “Apebook - Self-Custody Seed Phrase Notebook,” is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by Bored Ape Yacht Club member and Shieldfolio Founder, Stonie.

“This proposal emphasizes the importance of self-custody and keeping $APE wallet back-ups safe by offering Exclusive Apebook Seed Phrase Notebooks to DAO member participants,” Stonie wrote. “Since ApeCoin is primarily held in self-custodial wallets, securely storing wallet seed phrases is essential to minimize risks like hacks, loss, or theft.”

To help $Ape holders practice better crypto security, Stonie and his company want to create 1,500 ApeCoin branded ShieldFolio “StoneBooks” and distribute them to ApeCoin community.

These Apebooks are small, 3.5”X 5.5”, and have 80 “durable and waterproof” pages in them that can store up to 50 different wallets' seed recovery phrases, according to Stonie’s AIP.

In total, Stonie is asking the DAO to allocate $47,200 USD worth of $Ape so he can create and mail 1,500 Apebooks to ApeCoin DAO contributors at no additional cost to them.

“The APE Community should implement this proposal because it helps solve a big problem many people face in the crypto world: keeping wallet seed phrases safe,” Stonie wrote. “Doing this would help the APE Community grow and stay strong in the long run. Members would be better at managing their digital assets, participating in voting, and making smart decisions that help everyone in the community.”

The window to vote on AIP-241 opens tonight at 9 P.M. EST and $Ape holders have until Wednesday May 24th to cast their coins.
