ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Wants The Ape Foundation To Hire A Head Of Network Development Using Savings From Cutting Special Council Members' Salaries

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to cut each Special Council member’s salary by $25,000 USD and use the savings to hire a 'Head of Network Development' at the Ape Foundation.

AIP-413 titled ‘Hire a Head of Network Development at the APE Foundation,’ is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Buuvei.

“This proposal aims to hire a Head of Network Development to help oversee matters within the APE Foundation, supporting our community in achieving its strategic goals and ensuring operational excellence,” Buuvei wrote. “The Head of Network Development will be responsible for supporting daily operations, facilitating strategic planning, coordinating community engagement, and representing the DAO in external affairs. Additionally, this role will be well-positioned to make recommendations for further improvements as needed.”

Further in his proposal, Buuvei wrote that a Head of Network Development at the Ape Foundation, would help the DAO accomplish it goals while also freeing up the Special Council to be the advisory board that it was intended to be.

In total, Buuvei is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $120,000 USD worth of $APE per year to hiring a Head of Network Development. However, Buuvei does not want this to be new spending. Instead, he proposes that the DAO should cut each Special Council member's pay by $25,000 USD beginning in January 2025. This would free up $125,000 USD worth of $APE each year that can be spent on a Head of Network Development.

The window to vote on AIP-413 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, June 19th, to cast their coins and vote on this proposal.

The Bored Ape Gazette is working to find out more about AIP-413 and will be reaching out to Buuvei for an interview soon. Stay tuned for updates!
