ON THE BALLOT: This AIP Wants The DAO To Fund A Web3 'Bored Game' Made By The Forgotten Runes Team!
The Battle for Goblintown begins this week at the ApeCoin DAO with a community vote that will determine whether the DAO will join the fight and fund Forgotten Runes Wizard Cult’s Web3 Goblin-based strategy game.
Ape Improvement Proposal 364 titled ‘The Battle for Goblin Town - A Bored Game’ is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor and Forgotten Runes Wizard Cult Founder, Bearsnake.
“BFGT combines the joy and nostalgia of a tabletop experience with the ownership and utility of web3, with a strategic decision-making system driven by economic game theory,” Bearsnake wrote. “Our initial plan was to independently launch the game in a more open manner but after discussions with key ApeCoin DAO members it became clear that our game could provide significant value to this community by making it exclusive to ApeCoin.”
In BFGT, players will place settlements, earn resources and expand their empire, according to the game’s teaser trailer.
In total, Bearsnake and the Forgotten Runes Wizard Cult team are requesting the ApeCoin DAO to allocate 2 million $Ape for the creation of the game and the funding of an $Ape prize pool.
“Our intention with this AIP is to create an economically self-sustaining video game that lives on for a long time,” Bearsnake wrote. “We see this game providing real utility and enjoyment to the ApeCoin DAO and ApeCoin holders while introducing new users to the ApeCoin Ecosystem.”
If passed, Bearsnake and the team plan to give the DAO 15% of the game’s mint and ongoing $Ape revenue as a return on its investment. Bearsnake will also burn an additional 15% of the $Ape revenue that the game generates, and another 20% of the $Ape revenue will go towards funding the game's future prize pool.
Further, ApeCoin DAO Contributors who vote yes on AIP-364 will receive a free one BFGT gaming piece per 1,000 $Ape they cast in favor of this proposal.
The window to vote on AIP-364 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until next Wednesday, December 6th, to cast their coins.
The Bored Ape Gazette is working to find out more about AIP-364 and will bring you an interview with Bearsnake about his proposed game next week. Stay tuned for updates!
