Web3 World of Warcraft fans were pumped yesterday after Yuga Labs CEO Garga said he wants to make Nexus, the Koda ancestral homeworld, Otherside’s Orgrimmar or Stormwind. Which, for you non-gamers out there, means he wants to make it iconic!

On Wednesday, Garga took to the Otherside Discord to answer Voyagers’ questions about Otherside. During the Q&A, the topic of the Koda homeworld came up, and Garga confirmed that it will have different districts, lots of Easter eggs, and while it will be open to everyone, it will also feature token-gated areas for Kodas only.

“Nexus is massive, with a temple at its center and various districts dedicated to different things. Team has put a ton of love into the details for it, did a playthrough of it yesterday and a bunch of stuff even surprised me,” he wrote. “In the same way BAYC island or Meetropolis had lots of easter eggs and hidden aspects, Nexus has that on steroids. We were really trying to make the city that would be Otherside's Orgrimmar or Stormwind.”

Yesterday’s Nexus comments marked the second update the community has gotten about the Koda homeworld in the past month. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs celebrated the third anniversary of the Otherside mint with a cryptic lore post and a new look at the world!

At this time, there’s still a lot we don’t know about Nexus, but we do know that it will be a core part of the first time user experience when the metaverse becomes a reality this summer. We also know that the world includes elements from every Otherdeed biome, features portals that connect the realms, and is built atop a Chaos Otherdeed.

“Think of Nexus as the ancestral home of the Kodas, with an enormous Koda temple at its center,” Garga wrote in January 2025. “It’s the central hub for all Otherside, connecting realms and biomess through a vast network of portals. in its prime, Nexus was illuminated by Soma, which is the creation energy you saw Blue bottling up in the Otherside B.C. trailer but chaos, the other energy we see in the trailer and throughout Otherside, has really fucked the place up these days.... it is a Chaos environment but a major city similar to Meetropolis. it's near the site of the temple we see in the second Otherside trailer."

Everyone can take a closer look at Nexus today by rewatching Yuga Labs’ Otherside B.C. (Before Curtis) trailer on YouTube, first released in September 2022:

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow all things Nexus and will keep you posted as more information about the Otherside is released. Stay tuned for updates!
