Before thousands of Bored Ape Yacht Club members hit the Strip for a weekend of parties, poker, and ComplexCon, one Ape is kicking things off with a paintball tournament for his fellow Apes and ApeChain collectors and everyone’s invited to pick up a marker and ape in!
With ApeFest 2025 locked into Las Vegas later this year, the community has started loading up the days before and after the club’s flagship event with all sorts of gatherings and festivities. One of these side events is “Boring Paintball,” hosted by BAYC member ApeWhale, and it sounds like it’ll be a bored blast!
“We’re taking over a private field for 20-100 apes (1000 capacity if things get bananas),” he tweeted. “First come, first serve. BAYC + MAYC holders get first access ApeChain project holders next Sign-ups open soon in batches via Luma. First 20 slots coming up.”
Unlike many events likely to pop up during ApeFest weekend in Vegas, ApeWhale hopes this experience brings community members closer together in a way only team sports and competition can.
“I wanted to offer something different from the typical event experience,” ApeWhale told the Gazette. “We all know that IRL is the alpha. The BAYC community is incredible, ApeFest is always a highlight, and the Mutants bring insane energy. Paintball felt like the right fit. It's a powerful team-building activity and an opportunity for people to experience real adrenaline together. I wanted apes to feel that rush and connect in a way that goes beyond the usual hangouts. My goal was to create something fun and memorable that strengthens bonds within the community.”
