PLAYING FOR POINTS: Otherside Will Have An Experience Point System That Will Reward Players And Primates For Ape-ing In!

Primates and players will be earning experience points in Otherside beginning this summer, after Yuga Labs announced its plans to incorporate an XP system into the metaverse.

Major alpha was hidden in plain sight yesterday as Yuga Labs dropped a ton of new information about Otherside in a nine part thread.

 

 

As next generation creator tools and newly announced experiences like Outbreak took over the timeline, Yuga Labs also revealed that the metaverse will feature an XP system, and that everyone will be able to start earning points next month by playing the first ever persistent Otherside experience, Bathroom Blitz.

“This activation starts accumulating Voyager XP,” Yuga Labs wrote.  “Retroactive XP for prior engagement will roll out ahead of launching the persistent state.”

 

After yesterday’s announcements, Yuga Labs CEO Garga took the stage during this week’s Meet Me at the Clubhouse Space to talk more about the metaverse’s point system.

 

“There is going to be XP starting for Otherside too,” Garga said “ I can’t speak to much about that yet, but basically, like with any crypto, not all users are valued the same.  We want to be able to support and reward users who keep coming back, who help us play test things, who engage, and who create things for the ODK. So we will be launching XP in time for Bathroom Blitz. It will go through Zombie Tag (Outbreak), there will be a retroactively aspect of XP so if you’ve participated in things in the past, if you play tested Project Dragon, we want to be able to show you some love too.
