PRIMATE PREMIERE: A New Bored Ape Yacht Club Documentary Called ‘How The World Went Ape$h!t’ Drops On Stuff.IO This Thursday

A new Bored Ape Yacht Club documentary told from the perspective of the people and J-Pegs who lived through the last NFT cycle is premiering on Stuff.IO later this week. And if you mint the movie’s NFT, you could possibly win a Bored Ape of your own!
The 2021 and 2022 NFT market was insane. Sotheby’s, celebrities, and fortunes were being made on random generative adjective plus animal projects that seemed to mint daily for months.
“You can't even describe it lol,” former BAYC member and crypto personality DanielGotHits tweeted just today as part of lore trend on X. “You could just mint like 50 gutter cats or world of women, and they'd be up 5x within an hour and 10x within a day, and 50x within a week it was just absolutely silly. banana zone every single day for months and months in a row.”
While that time is hard to put into words, director Sharon Bordas and producer Jeff Hasler believe it can be captured on film with their new documentary How the World Went Ape$h!t. The film aims to explain what happened through interviews with the people who were there and with perspectives from the NFTs themselves.
“The feature length documentary, tells the story of the rise and fall of the NFT from the point of view of major players in the space, artists and media figures, as well as animated versions of the NFTs themselves,” Bordas told the Gazette. “Five lead apes from the iconic Bored Ape Yacht Club… tell the true stories that humans never could [or would] and narrate the joy, pain and ridiculousness of this unique moment in culture.”
For the film’s premiere, Bordas and Hasler are teaming up with Stuff.IO to sell 10,000 commemorative onchain copies on Base for $99 USD each. One lucky minter will win Bored Ape #7112, a six-trait, golden brown fur primate with crazy eyes and a tank top!
