Q&A: The DAM Show's AIP Is On the Ballot This Week. Find Out How They Plan To Bring Fun To The DAO

The ApeCoin DAO is voting on a proposal this week that aims to fund a show that focuses on 10KTF and the Yugaverse at large.
AIP-214 titled “Sponsoring The DAM Show + Live Game Shows,” is an ecosystem allocation fund proposal written by Bored Ape Yacht Club member and DAM show Co-Host Atareh.Eth and Mebynetta.
“Media brings attention and awareness, which brings value, Atareh.Eth wrote. “Nowhere is that more true than in the NFT space. THE DAM SHOW is a media platform the three Captains of 10KTF started in July 2022, having all met through 10KTF in September 2021. Since then, we’ve hosted a twice weekly show (a recorded episode every DAM Monday, and a live episode every DAM Thursday) totaling more than 88 videos.”
Atareh.Eth went on to say that the DAM Show's videos have accumulated 66.7 thousand views on Twitter and 28.7 thousand views on YouTube, since its creation in July 2022.
In total, Atareh.Eth is asking the ApeCoin DAO for $95,000 USD of funding so the show can “cross the chasm” into a sustainable business model.
“Think of this as supporting us as we cross the chasm,” Atareh.Eth wrote. “While we’re not a profitable rev generating enterprise yet, we will get there as we continue to create great content and build a following. The purpose of this grant is to get us over the chasm (at the very least partially), so that our reach is large enough to start generating revenue in the form of sponsorships, partnerships, ad placements and live events.”
If passed, $40,000 USD will be used to purchase 12 Otherdeeds and Other Yuga Labs assets that will be given away as prizes during the DAM Show’s live games and $55,000 USD will be used to enhance the show, pay talent, among other things.

Can you tell me a bit about you and how you got into the ApeCoin DAO?
"I got involved with the ApeCoin DAO when it came out. I also spent time creating educational video for the ApeCoin DAO through a YouTube channel I have called Degen University."
Can you summarize your AIP in a sentence or two?
"It's updating the production and distribution for the DAM show so we can create a better product and have more engaging content."
How did you come up with the idea for the DAM show?
"We came up with it after NFT NYC 2022 when me and a few 10KTF members that had known each other for a while; we knew that there was something here. So after NFT NYC I DM’d some friends and I asked them if they wanted to do a weekly show together because 10KTF does weekly content, so there is an opportunity for us to do a weekly show. So that’s where it started and then it went to a live show on Thursdays so we can experience the updates as they happen."
What has it been like running the DAM show? What have you learned from this experience?
"It’s been so much fun; especially the live streams. We look forward to Thursdays every week. It feels like it's Saturday night live. Each week we are coming up with a theme and we are coming up with skits, ideas, and funny jokes. We are creating these things right up to the deadline, which is usually like 5-10 minutes before we go live. It’s been so much fun and it’s been an exercise in consistency. I’d say that’s the biggest thing. To be consistent week over week and not miss a show has been really interesting. We learned the pacing of what it takes to do weekly content. If you come some of our old shows to our recent shows you can see the continued improvement, which is something that we strive for."
What should people know about you and the DAM show before they vote?
"DAM is fun! That’s our North star actually. We ask ourselves each week is this fun. If it’s a yes we do it, and if it’s not we don’t. I think ApeCoin and the DAO needs a bit of fun and the DAM show will be bringing that fun."
Where do you see the DAM show a year from now?
"We are going to become the biggest show in Yuga. It’s going to be the most engaging content, it’s going to be fun, it’s going to be live, it’s going to be IRL, we are going to be doing a lot of different things. We are going to be doing IRL activations, award shows like we’ve done in the past, more game shows. So, I just think with the ApeCoin DAO we are going to up our level of production because everything we’ve done so far has been on a budget and has been our personal money and time. So for us to have a budget is big for us."
Do you have anything else you’d like to add?
"We’ve been operating and we’ve been doing this for the past 11 months, twice a week. This is so much fun for us and we get to do this for the community and it's really by the community because that’s where we started. We are ape holders we are mutant holders and we would like to expand our reach beyond 10KTf ."
The window to vote on AIP-214 is currently open and $Ape holders will have until Wednesday, April 26th, to cast their coins.
