Q&A: This AIP Wants The DAO To Put On A Digital $Ape Fashion Show!

Strike a pose because this Ape Improvement Proposal wants to bring a digital fashion show contest to the ApeCoin ecosystem!

AIP-353 titled ‘Fashion Battle Royale Powered by Apecoin, Web3 Self-Expression Redefined,’ is an ecosystem fund allocation proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Brand New Vision.

“Fashion and culture are 2 sides of the same coin, ApeCoin’s mission is to promote all things culture in Web3 and ME:ID is all about visualizing culture through the lens of fashion,” BNV wrote. “ME:ID aggregates a wide range of culture in the form of fashion, art, music, dance, sports, memes and anything that helps one express his/her/their primal instincts and visual identities. BNV is confident a well-executed competition in the form of battle royale with large bottom-up exposure on social media platforms can definitely help further Apecoin DAO’s mission.”

To get this fashion battle royale show on the catwalk, BNV is asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate 95,000 $Ape to AIP-353.

 

If passed, ApeCoin holders will gain access to a range of exclusive digital wearables via BNV’s ME:ID platform.

From there, ApeCoin DAO Contributors will then get to dress their characters in $Ape clothing and compete in BNV’s digital fashion show battle online. The top eight designers' looks will then be presented during a real-life fashion show in Paris, and the top three creators will receive $Ape prizes, according to AIP-353.

1.  In a sentence or two can you sum up your proposal?

"It’s a battle of creativity infused with style and web3 cultures powered by Apecoin. The Gamification of Style with a real fashion world interface."

2.  What inspired you to write this?

"We believe that digital fashion is a great medium for amplifying internet cultures especially for Web3 and the open metaverse. The vibrant Ape community and the potential for the various IP’s to be recognized global brands, not just within the current web3 world, was the trigger."

3.  How did you get into Web3 fashion?

"BNV started in 2016 as a fashion tech company with its founders decades of experience, connections and knowledge of the fashion industry seeking to improve the traditional cycles and economics.  With the advent of smart contracts and DLT it just made perfect sense to focus on purely digital fashion."

4.  Will $Apes be able to design their own clothing?

"We will look to collaborate with all relevant groups associated with the Apecoin ecosystem to create collections of wearables and items in ME:ID inspired by the art and storytelling of all the flagship PFP collections owned by Yuga labs, perhaps even with some cross-over with external PFP collections. Anyone with 1 ApeCoin or more in their connected wallets can style and customise the exclusive collections built for the Fashion Battle Royale. "

5.  Why are you the right person to run an $Ape fashion show?

"Because BNV has valuable real world fashion connections and has been building bridges in both Web2 and Web3 worlds since 2021."

6.  Can you tell me a bit more about the in real life event?

"At this point, we can tell you it’s still quite likely that it will happen in Paris but we will keep it open and pay attention for ideas that might emerge from our engagement with various communities and their leaders. We will be looking to create an event that will not just be covered by web3 media but also the wider fashion and style press."

7.  Where do you see $Ape and ME:ID a year from now? What’s next after this proposal?

"We see many possibilities. We see ME:ID becoming a creation and engagement tool for blue chip holders to build personal brands around their valuable PFPs, especially with our upcoming feature, ME:AI. $Ape will continue to be the token of choice for gating a wide range of experiences and unique items in ME:ID. We would look to co-create and sell tokenised wearables via our innovative omnichannel virtual vending machine for digital fashion which can generate real revenue for the ApeCoin DAO."

8.  Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

"As soon as our AIP passes the vote, we would like to speak to all community leaders and collaborate with them to make sure Fashion Battle Royale powered by ApeCoin become a success and achieves what it’s designed to do which is to grow the reach of the ApeCoin ecosystem and raise awareness of its critical mission for bringing culture to the metaverse."

 

The window to vote on AIP-353 is currently open and $Apes have until Thursday, February 1st, to cast their coins.
