Q&A: This Analytics Company's AIP Aims Take A Deep Dive Into $Ape Holder Participation Rates

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to help the DAO learn more about its active and inactive holders!

AIP-275 titled “Understanding and Improving the Governance Participation in ApeCoin DAO,” is a brand decision proposal written by a Aman, the Growth lead for DeepDAO, a discovery and analytics engine for the DAO ecosystems.

“This proposal aims to leverage data analysis and segmentation to identify and address barriers to participation in ApeCoin DAO, enabling the development of tailored onboarding incentives and initiatives,” Aman wrote. “By gaining insights into the interests and activity patterns of $APE token holders, the DAO can optimize its governance processes and foster a more engaged and vibrant community.”

To do this, Aman and the DeepDAO team will analyze the $Ape community and give the ApeCoin DAO an analysis report on all governance participants and non-active $Ape holders, a CSV file that highlights $Ape holders interest/ activity, and Aman and the DeepDAO team will hold and present an action plan to the DAO based on a brainstorming session with the community, according to AIP-275.

In total, Aman and the DeepDAO team are asking the ApeCoin DAO to allocate $15,000 USD worth of $Ape to them for their services.

To find out more about DeepDAO and what they plan to do if their AIP is passed, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Aman for an interview. Check it out below:

1.In a sentence or two can you sum up what your AIP is all about?

“The goal of DeepDAO’s AIP is to analyze ApeCoin DAO’s token holders, and voters community in terms of their voting interests around the DAO ecosystem, and voting patterns in ApeCoin DAO itself. This analysis will generate insights that will feed into ApeCoin DAO’s marketing efforts and help tailor an optimized message to the various segments of your community.”

2.In a sentence or two can you briefly explain what DeepDAO is and some of their previous work?

“DeepDAO is the #1 discovery engine for DAOs, and the top tool for analyzing governance. With 1000s of listed DAOs, and millions of DAO participants’ personal profiles, DeepDAO is a vast network of social and work-related connections in the Web3 space. DAOs, research teams, leading crypto and mainstream media, as well as VCs and academics rely on DeepDAO for data on the DAO ecosystem.”

3. Can you explain the process that you and DeepDAO will analyze $Ape holders’ profiles? What does that entail?

"DeepDAO already has a full dataset of ApeCoin DAO’s token holders, proposals, votes, and voters. We analyze this data in several dimensions:1. Voting patterns, for example number of voters over the past several years. Is DAO participation growing, or diminishing?2. Personal interests: as DeepDAO categorizes over a thousand DAOs and aggregates their data, we developed a deep understanding of the interest verticals of each DAO participant. For example we can tell if your community is more interested in DeFi, or Gaming, or Investments (or any other DAO categories currently in existence).3. Competitor analysis: once we collected and dissected the above, we will work with you to identify the various DAO competitors, understand their own communities and how they can be made interested in ApeCoin DAO as well. 4. Note that the above is relevant both for the voters, and token holders.”

4. In your experience analyzing DAOs, what issues or areas for improvement do you see when you look at the ApeCoin DAO?

"We will be able to tell more once we analyze the DAO data."

5. Why are you and DeepDAO the right people to analyze the DAO?

“We are the number #1 aggregator for DAO data, and have been doing this for over 3 years. We know and understand the DAO ecosystem inside out.”

Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“Yes, once the analysis is complete, we will brainstorm with the DAOs relevant stewards towards developing campaigns to the various identified segments, and discuss how to find and approach them.”
