RESOLVED: After A Metadata Issue, The BAYC Sent Refunds To Impacted Buyers

The Bored Ape Yacht Club took to Twitter this evening and informed the community that it has sent refunds to buyers who were impacted by the companion trait metadata glitch!

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, as the summoning started on Wednesday, some HV-MTL (Heavy Metal) Power Sources’ metadata showed that they had a companion trait when they did not.

The BAYC quickly resolved the metadata issue and announced that it would

be making impacted buyers whole.

“We’ve resolved the issue of the Companion trait not showing correctly on HV-MTL Power Sources,” the club wrote last night at 11:20 P.M. EST. “The metadata has been updated and the trait has been re-added to the collection. We also identified all cases where a user purchased a HV-MTL Power Source before 7:44PM EDT with an incorrectly labeled Companion trait. For any buyers that last purchased any of these NFTs prior to the cut-off time, we'll be sending ETH to the affected wallet covering the difference between the amount paid and floor. This should be complete within the next 24 hours.”

Less than 24-hours later, the BAYC announced that they had sent impacted users their refunds.

“The below process is now complete., the BAYC tweeted. “Any users affected by a purchase prior to the cutoff time who believe they have yet to receive their ETH, please reach out to support@mdvmm.xyz.”
