ImprobableIo CEO and Founder Herman Narula dropped a "sexy new trailer" and a five-part thread that showcased his company’s ability to host thousands of gamers on a single server and highlighted that developers and players will fully own their creations in the interoperable metaverse powered by Improbable’s M Squared technology!
On Tuesday, Narula shared an M Squared Tech Sizzle Reel filled with actual gameplay from Yuga Labs’ Otherside First Trip, the all-star game from MLB Virtual Ballpark, and other online gatherings over the years.
In the video, Improbable highlighted its ability to host thousands of concurrent users on the same server and to create large-scale experiences that are anything but boring.
Along with highlighting Improbable’s ability to host experiences with thousands of participants, Narula explained that builders will be able to create their own experiences with Improbable’s open-format building protocol, Metaverse Markup Language (MML). He also stated that these tools will be available to everyone and that builders will own their work in the M Squared powered metaverse.
“M2 is also a decentralized commercial network. One where the developer can fully own their game, own the front door and distribution and monetise their game however they wish,” he tweeted. “You can even link worlds together, with portals, with shared economics, or by building custom sub networks, your own differentiated 'roblox' and developer kits, like the ODK. Our goal is to enable new experiences that are also extremely composable. With MML you can easily build experiences that are composed of objects made by different authors, brought together in unique ways. Worlds can grow from a communities contributions or be designed by a single dev team.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs CEO Garga announced that the company would be working with Improbable again to make the Otherside a reality during a Metaverse Town Hall meeting on May 2nd.
“The previous leadership at Yuga was focused on building a lot of Otherside’s capabilities from the ground up,” Garga said.“But building everything yourself takes a long time and we didn’t want to ship on a Web2 cadence, we wanted to ship like our butts were completely on fire. So when I took over the CEO spot 2 months ago I decided to make a big change. Going forward, we are contributing everything we built, all the shit that we worked hard to do, and we are putting it on M squared. Otherside is going to live on M squared. We are buddies with IO again. We are locking arms with Improbable, and we are migrating Otherside to M squared and they are returning the favor by building out some additional capabilities for us. Honestly, we are all super stoked about it.”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Improbable’s M Squared technology and all things Otherside. Stay tuned for updates!
