Kimpembe purchased Bored Ape #5498 from BAYC member Otter. Eth for 138 Eth or $386,000 USD. “Big up to my man @otter_eth,” Kimpembe tweeted after the sale.

Bored Ape #5498 is a five-trait dark brown fur ape with a halo and a multicolored grin. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #5498 is the 6115th most rare ape, according to Rarity Tools.

Shortly after the purchase, Kimpembe took to Twitter to update his profile photo and introduce his followers to his new bored ape.

“Ici c’est Paris @BoredApeYC@FrenchBAYC @frenchipino #BAYC,” he tweeted along with a photo of his ape in a soccer jersey.

After the purchase, BAYC members congratulated the soccer player on his pickup and wondered which soccer players may join the club next.

“What,” BAYC member Mitchell tweeted. “Now Kimpembe! Another member of PSG. Messi and Mbappe programmed Welcome.”

While Kimpembe just tweeted a photo of Bored Ape #5498 today, it appears that the soccer play has been a member of the BAYC for quite a while now.

Bored Ape #5498 is not the only bored ape that’s in Kimpembe’s wallet, the soccer player also purchased Bored Ape #9260 on December 7th, according to Opensea data.
