SOMETHING’S BUBBLING: Yuga Labs Rolls Out Two New Otherside Bubble Space Updates That Really Pop!

The Otherside was rising high this morning as Yuga Labs rolled out two new updates to its metaverse version of Twitter Spaces, dubbed Bubbles, making it easier than ever for Voyagers to tap into conversations and explore the swamp while chit chatting with their frens!
On Friday, Yuga Labs Head Engineer James Hall took to the timeline with a five-part thread to announce “Free Bubble” and “Listen” mode, two features he thinks will really pop with primates and users!
“This week has a big focus on BUBBLES, including a feature we think you'll love,” he said. “The big feature today is the FREE BUBBLE. Want to run around the world in a group but still have a voice conversation? This is the feature for you… Also added, an option to "LISTEN", this allows you to listen in to a bubble without needing to actually join it (this does not work on private bubbles). Think listen anonymously from a Twitter space. Try it and let us know your thoughts.”
Following the announcement, Hall joined this week’s Meet at the Clubhouse Bubble Space, where he discussed the new features.
“We created a Free Bubble which is basically like a free roaming Bubble,” he said. “You’ll see the option when you create the bubbles now its either air or free bubble and everyone’s free to run around. We’d all be able to speak to each other… I think it unlocks a lot of stuff for folks to work with.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Bubbles was a day-one activation on Otherside when the persistent metaverse launched on July 25th. Since then, Voyagers have been able to pop in anytime, chat with frens, and attend weekly Meet at the Clubhouse Spaces every Friday at 10 A.M. EST high in the clouds above Otherside. Community members, like the degens behind Other Games, have also found all sorts of ways to use Bubbles for gamified experiences over the last six weeks!
As Bubbles becomes more of a staple in the Yugaverse, Hall reminded everyone that these are still early days for Otherside and that things will only get better around the swamp.
“We are really trying to get into this two week cadence of pushing out incremental updates,” he said. “Let us know how you’re feeling, good news can go on the timeline and bad news can go to my Dms!”
