SOON: Yuga Labs CEO Garga Teases "BIG INFO DUMP" Before This Summer’s Otherside Launch!

The first iteration of a persistent, always-on Otherside is coming this June, and Yuga Labs CEO Garga and the team are planning to do a “big info dump” beforehand so everyone knows what to expect for this summer’s grand opening, the winter release, and beyond!

Earlier this week, Garga took to the Otherside Discord to chat with Apes and Voyagers about all things metaverse and announced that more images, videos, and information will be coming soon.

“Yes, our plan is to do a big info dump prior to persistent state, Garga wrote. “So you get a heads up for what's happening NOW-ish, what's happening in the Winter release, and what the roadmap is beyond. Have been trying to be pretty clear about what the persistent state will look like but images and vids always help.”

 

 

As we wait for this major info dump, we already know quite a bit about this June’s Otherside launch and the upcoming winter update.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Garga has said that this June’s launch will feature three always-on social hubs: the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s swamp, the voxel world of Meetropolis, and the ancestral Koda homeworld known as the Nexus. The update will also include games and activities like Bubbles, Poker, ODK experiences made by Yuga Labs and other developers, and more!

“Excited for Otherside's next milestone: the always-on, persistent world,” Garga tweeted last month. “This won't be our only major release this year, but it's a big milestone, and one we're targeting for June. Will be putting Project Dragon on pause for a couple months so we can crush this release. We'll have our always-on social hub, with achievements, trading, tipping and transacting all on ApeChain. Features like Bubbles, Poker, and the Kodacam, as well as a range of ODK experiences, from Bathroom Blitz to smaller games and features, that we've been methodically building out with a variety of different partners and community builders. And at the center of it all is Nexus, the ancestral home of the Kodas.”

 

 

Following this tweet, Garga returned to the Otherside Discord to elaborate on the second major update, scheduled for this winter, and to tease what’s ahead!

“We're focused on two releases this year: June release for persistent world with all the things I've been talking about (main islands online, transacting on ApeChain, fun social features like Bubbles, Poker, etc, and ODK games like Bathroom Blitz) and a Winter release focused on Otherdeeds with a fast follow for resources starting to be emitted.”
