SPOTLIGHT: BAYC Member Dakky Ditches The Polished Traits To Create A “Brutally Raw” Art Collection!

After five years, a bull market, a bear market, and thousands of animal plus adjective mints along the way, Bored Ape Yacht Club member and artist Dakky.eth has gone from collector to creator, dropping his first ever art project, Brutally Raw.
On Monday, Dakky launched the free mint on OpenSea, inviting frens old and new to pick up pieces that feel distinctly his, combining chaos, cartoons, and culture in a way that really stands out.
“Brutally Raw came from getting tired of the standard “animals and traits” formula and wanting to explore something that feels more expressive and imperfect,” Dakky said. “Closer to raw, human sketches rather than polished generative outputs.”
To achieve that straight out of a sketchbook feel, Dakky said he combined hand drawn elements with MS Paint and AI to create a collection of 5,155 abstract works, each with its own unique identity.
“That’s also why some pieces have slightly “off” details - extra limbs, imperfect shapes - it sits right in that space between human and machine, which became part of the identity of the collection,” Dakky explained. “At its core, Brutally Raw is about controlled chaos - using modern tools, but pushing them toward something that feels raw, imperfect, and a bit uncomfortable compared to typical NFT aesthetics.”
