SPOTLIGHT: The Frostbytes Invite Their ApeChain Frens To Grab A Pickaxe And Join Them On Their Next Adventure!

From the mines to the stars, Bored Ape Yacht Club member and ApeChain builder Buuvei and his team are telling on-chain tales with their project, Frostbyte, and they’re inviting their frens from the $Ape ecosystem to grab a pickaxe and join them!

Ever since the early days of ApeChain, the 3,333 pixelated alien penguins that make up the Frostbyte collection have been waddling on-chain and working to connect the $Ape ecosystem through storytelling and unique on-chain mechanics.

“Community involvement has always been number one for Frostbyte,” Buuvei said. Even from the traits themselves.”

What started as an art project inspired by Buuvei’s real-life snowy surroundings and love of penguins quickly turned into a playground for on-chain mechanics, community building, and storytelling.

Just a month after the project’s mint, Buuvei and his team introduced the ApeChain ecosystem to the mine, welcoming projects from the Geez to the Gobs to soft-stake their NFTs on the platform.

“I really like the mining because the other communities can literally pick up a pickaxe and join us in the mines,” he said.

 

This mining experience was one of the first smart contract activations on ApeChain, according to Buuvei. Currently, 8,782 ApeChain NFTs are mining for $Gems—the currency of the Frostbyte ecosystem—alongside their penguin frens on the project’s website.

With these Gems, holders can join the Frostbyte community on their future endeavors as they explore the universe, go on missions, and more!

As the story of Frostbyte unfolds, Buuvei hopes even more communities from across the $Ape ecosystem will join them. To him, ApeChain is home and it’s where he wants to build!

“ApeChain feels like home,” he said. “That’s where I want to be and where I want to make a difference. Any other chain? I wouldn’t even have touched it. I’m here because ApeChain is cool, and I want to support it.”
