THANK YOU: BAYC Member Adam Weitsman Gifts 0xQuit His Favorite Primate For Saving The NFT Space!

After saving 115 Bored Apes, 322 Mutants, and more than 23,000 additional NFTs last night, Bored Ape Yacht Club member and avid NFT collector Adam Weitsman gifted 0xQuit his favorite Ape as a thank you for single handedly saving the NFT space.

What could have been one of the biggest hacks in NFT history was averted Friday morning thanks to Yuga Labs’ Head of Blockchain, 0xQuit, who discovered a vulnerability in Limit Break’s Payment Processor contracts that were used by marketplaces like Magic Eden and OSWiki.

From there, 0xQuit did what heroes do: he sprung into action, spending more than $7,500 on gas to move over 23,000 NFTs worth more than $6 million to safety before bad actors could get to them.

 

 

Without 0xQuit, hundreds of thousands of collectors across the space would have lost everything and many would have probably left the space entirely.

 

  It’s not an overstatement to say that he saved NFTs this morning, and his actions did not go unnoticed.

Following the rescue, longtime BAYC member Adam Weitsman announced that he was gifting 0xQuit Bored Ape #5759, a prison jumpsuit wearing primate that Weitsman described as the prize of his collection and one of the most meaningful things he owns.

“This Ape has and will ALWAYS be to me the prize of my entire collection and maybe the most loved thing I own bar none,” Weitsman tweeted. “It was my first big purchase years back and means S0 much to me. Orange has always been my fav color and the prison jump suit was a reminder of when I was locked up by the Feds years ago.”

 

 

Weitsman went on to say that while he was lucky enough not to be drained last night, several of his friends were impacted, and that 0xQuit’s is an inspiration to him.

 

“Today I’m giving it as a gift to @0xquit for basically saving the space for all of us last night,” he wrote. “His selflessness and generosity is what I inspire to be….”It’s definitely going to the absolute best of humans …. I know my ape will now be in the home where he belongs.”

 

As the Gazette previously reported, while thousands of NFTs were moved to safety during the white hat rescue, 0xQuit is still urging collectors to check their wallet approvals and revoke any permissions tied to the affected Payment Processor contracts.

Revoke.Cash also rolled out a new frontend Friday that lets users check whether their wallets were exposed to the exploit and revoke any affected approvals.
