After peeps and chirps filled the timeline on Sunday claiming that a snapshot had already been taken by Moonbirds for its highly anticipated memecoin, $Birb the company came out and said that it was all just squawk!

“We have seen rumors circulating so we want to clarify: there was NOT a snapshot taken of Moonbirds, Mythics, or Oddities NFTs,” Moonbirds tweeted earlier this afternoon.
The rumors of the snapshot started early morning after Moonbird's team member BigBiceps shared a post in the Discord writing, "It's Time. $birb coming to Solana 01.28.26.(for those that live under a rock / didn't check twitter )

As the Gazette previously reported, Moonbirds officially announced earlier this week that $BIRB will be going live on Solana on January 28.
With $BIRB, the Moonbirds team hopes to combine the fun of memes with the seriousness of a real business.

“Memes move people. Companies endure,” Spencer recently wrote in an X article titled the Birbillions Thesis. “Crypto only works when both are true at the same time. Birb is an attempt to formalize that insight. Not by resolving the tension between absurdity and enterprise, but by locking them together. The meme creates velocity. The company creates gravity. Together they thrive.”
At the time of writing, details around $Birb’s tokenomics remain unknown, and nothing has been confirmed regarding an airdrop or who may, or may not, qualify for one.

However, Spencer has teased that he has some twists planned for $Birb’s TGE, including a game called Birb Game 1.
“I like to do things that are a little funky, little nerdy, a little heady,” he said. “so there are some fun things coming up with the roll out there.”

The Gazette will continue to follow all things $Birb and will let you know as Spencer and the team release more information about the token. Stay tuned for updates!
