The Bored Ape Yacht Club Mobile Game Was Delayed Due To An Issue With Apple. Here's What We Know

Updated: Feb 8, 2022

The Bored Ape Yacht Club was forced to delay the release of its mobile game after an issue with Apple.

The BAYC was set to kick off its highly anticipated mobile game competition, Apes Vs Mutants, this evening. However, it was delayed due to an issue with Apple, according to the club.

“Hey @everyone unfortunately the mobile game competition start has been delayed,” BAYC Co-Founder Gargamel posted in the community Discord. “To put it short, our game got rugged by Apple. We have had the game previously approved for TestFlight for weeks without issue, and they have provided 0 explanation for the cause of the takedown.”

After the announcement, users took to Twitter to voice their frustration with Apple.

“Apple has apparently taken down the @BoredApeYC mobile game, and they gave 0 response as to why, Loopify tweeted. “We need to fight against this, a bigger problem than we can imagine.”

While it’s disappointing that the game will not be released tonight, the BAYC said its working to resolve the issue with Apple.

“We are working on a solution, and will stay in touch with the community on the new expected start date/time for the game, but it will likely be Tuesday at the earliest,” Gargamel posted. “Sorry everyone. Put away your Redbulls for now. We'll share more details as we can.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the status of the mobile game and will let you know when it becomes available.
