From the swamp to the shore, the Bored Ape Yacht Club is embracing vintage surf culture with its second ever Anchor Drop in collaboration with renowned streetwear designer and Round Two co-founder Sean Wotherspoon.

On Monday, Apes will have the chance to pick up a nostalgic compressed T-shirt that arrives sealed inside a puck before expanding into a full sized tee when soaked in water, creating a beach ready shirt that's fit for both the shore and the Yacht Club.

“This is like the Bored Ape Surf and Yacht Club, Wotherspoon said. “I’m imagining instead of the luxury yacht experience, my idea was imagine your homies got the yacht, but he’s the surfer homie.”

Wotherspoon's compressed tee pays homage to both the vintage surf scene of the '90s and, of course, best club on the internet!

The back features a colorful triangle design filled with palm trees, sailboats, surfboards, the iconic BAYC skull, and Sean Wotherspoon's signature, while the front shows the BAYC skull riding a wave beneath Wotherspoon's signature in blue.

. “I think compressed tee’s are pretty bad ass,” Wotherspoon said. “there’s a t shirt in here. Love these compressed tees, they were popping in the 90’s and early 2000’s… you could find them as promotions for anything…. This is something nice and easy you can wear to the beach… This is my beach style. White shirt, small front hit. Something sweet and colorful on the back.”

BAYC members are invited to ape in and pick up the compressed tee, along with a curated collection of vintage apparel, when the Anchor Drop goes live Monday at 2 PM PDT.

The Gazette will continue to follow the BAYC x Sean Wotherspoon Anchor Drop and keep you posted on all things style around the swamp. Stay tuned for updates!
