The Bored Ape Yacht Club went bananas today after the club kicked off its 'From The Bodega series' by spotlighting BoredKiki’s Made By Apes brand, KIKISunnies, introducing the community to her banana-shaped sunglasses business!
Just a day after the BAYC announced its plan to spotlight a different Made By Apes business each week, the club posted about BoredKiki’s venture, peeling back the curtain on what she's building.
“Our first feature for “From The Bodega” is @kiki_blockverse from @kikisunnies, MBA #00270,” the BAYC tweeted.“A sunglasses brand that is launching banana glasses in Q1, she’s sure it’ll make you go bananas. See the thread below for a Q & A with Kiki about her MBA.”
“I'm really excited and grateful to be the first MBA featured,” Bored Kiki told the Gazette. “It shows that the community believes in and supports my work. I'm eager to share the collections I'm currently working on with you.”
Bored Kiki went on to tell the Gazette that she was inspired to make her KIKISunnies brand because the the sunglass business is looking bright!
“I chose sunglasses because everyone wears them for practical reasons or as a fashion items,” she explained. “Also, the market for sunglasses is growing, so I thought, why not with my ape? Haha! The launch is coming soon, and I'll update you with more details shortly!”
