The Community Passed Myth Divison's AIP To Fund A Pilot Episode Of an Ape Series And Three Comics

Earlier this week, the ApeCoin DAO passed Myth Division founder Ramon Govea’s Ape Improvement Proposal to create an $Ape centric pilot episode for a TV series and three spin off comic books based on the lore of the swamp!

The ApeCoin DAO voted in favor of AIP-279 titled “Bored Apes Storm Hollywood (BASH-AIP): Expanding the Ecosystem with Battle-tested IP Veteran and the Batman Producers,” on Wednesday with 66.43% of voters casting their coins in favor of the proposal.

“You did it,” Govea tweeted after the vote. “Thank you @apecoin DAO for putting your trust in @MythDivision and @IP3Official to take our culture mainstream with this animated pilot. I was born for this historic moment in time. I can’t wait to prove you right. Time to get to work.”

After this week’s vote, the ApeCoin DAO will now allocate $300,000 USD worth of $Ape to Govea and the Myth Division team. They will use that money to create an animated pilot episode and three spin-off comic books based on ApeCoin. Govea believes that the 20–22-minute pilot episode will take 16-19 months to develop.

“The sooner we can finish the better, but we will not sacrifice quality and are using our short proof-of-concept as a bar for quality,” Govea wrote in his proposal. “After successful production and the right showrunner attachment, the goal is to leverage the pilot’s production quality and accredited team of Producers and Animators to secure distribution for a full eight to ten episode animated season on a major streaming platform.”

Following this week’s vote, the Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Govea and asked what $Apes can expect from him and his company going forward!

“I’m excited for the next chapter thanks to the community of ApeCoin holders who showed up to participate in the DAO vote,” he said. “This win certainly helps to speeds up the process for the animated series. To be honest, not much changes in terms of what’s next. I’m still organizing a small investment raise for Myth Division as a company. Our publishing schedule for comics continues and we’re still building in UE5 for the Metaverse gaming components of this main canon lore and for our first pfp project, Waifu Warriors.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Myth Division has been building in the Yuga Labs ecosystem since the Bored Ape Yacht Club’s launch, and they recently released Issue #6 of the American Ape comic series.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Myth Division and will keep you posted on their pilot episode progress. Stay tuned for updates!
