Bored Ape Yacht Club members, Metacard holders, and beef jerky aficionados are chewing over the Nelk Boys' Bored Jerky roadmap following the team's online launch yesterday.
Things were both boring and delicious around the swamp on Sunday after the Nelk Boys launched their highly anticipated snack, Bored Jerky, online on Saturday.
Bored Jerky not only features four different Bored Apes on the original, spicy, teriyaki, and peppered flavored beef jerky bags but also a Web3-inspired profit-sharing model, where Metacard holders will be rewarded with a portion of the profits that Bored Jerky generates.
Yesterday’s online launch was the second item on the Nelk Boys’ Full Send Metacard timeline for Bored Jerky.
Throughout 2024, Apes and Metacard holders can look forward to the brand advertising on TikTok and Instagram, two retail pushes this fall, and a secret fifth Bored Jerky flavor this winter!
Following yesterday’s online release, BAYC member David Tejeras took to Twitter and called the Bored Jerky launch, and the brand’s upcoming roadmap, the ‘NEXT biggest move to mass adoption.’
“Retail in the fall plus a reward program for @metacard holders from @BoredJerky sales,” he tweeted. “I hear every day on Spaces and on the timeline. ‘Can’t wait for mass adoption’ If you think Pudgy Penguins was big (shoutout to them no shade)I take a second and look at the partnership between @nelkboys and BAYC and ask yourself this… ‘Am I going to position myself properly for Generational Wealth’ or are you going to miss another chance after you told yourself you weren’t going to miss a big opportunity like this again.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Bored Jerky has been in the works for over 18 months and was first announced on an episode of the Full Send podcast in August 2022 during an interview with Bored Ape Yacht Club Founders, Gordon Goner and Garga.
“We have access to gas stations, convinces stores, grocery stores, what else can we do,” Shashidi said as he showed the BAYC founders a bag of Bored Jerky. “So, then we’re like what else do people buy at gas stations, it’s a beef jerky!”
