A sprawling constellation of worlds, an ancient Koda temple, and a city that’s always changing onchain, the Otherside world of Nexus is set to open sometime today. But before it wakes up, Yuga Labs CEO Garga shared some thoughts about this virtual world where everyone can win!

On Tuesday, Garga took to the timeline with an 11-part thread highlighting everything people need to know about Nexus.

"It's a new chapter for Otherside,” he said. “For the nerds: Think of the Nexus as our Stormwind. Our Orgrimmar. A home base. A hub. It's filled with districts to explore, an ancient temple at its core, and an ever-shifting set of challenges and trials. It's a city that will keep evolving, every few weeks. Look down from the Nexus and you'll see the entire map of Otherside glowing beneath you, a constellation of worlds waiting to be explored. It's the Nexus that you'll return to between adventures down below.”

The stunning visuals and ever changing experiences are just the surface of Nexus. Beneath it lies the true power of Otherside, its cryptonative mechanics that anyone can access with just a Gmail, Apple ID, or X account.
“Just as important is what you won't see in the Nexus. Under the hood, we've hidden the wires of crypto,” Garga wrote. “You can log in with X or email, and instantly get a self-custodied wallet behind the scenes. Otherside is a virtual world where ownership and crypto rails are native to the experience, not bolted on afterthoughts. Everything you accumulate, from items and avatars to badges and rewards, can live on-chain. When you collect, craft, or earn something, you're doing just that. Onchain and verifiably. When you build something, you control it.”
As this next chapter of Otherside begins, Garga emphasized his goal of creating a metaverse not just for Apes, Kodas, and others currently inside the Yugaverse ecosystem, but also for communities across Web3 and beyond.
