The Second Annual Bored Ape Yacht Club Death Nuts Challenge Is Tomorrow Night
The Bored Ape Yacht Club is going nuts…DEATH NUTS!
For the second year in a row, several BAYC members will come together and collectively punish their insides in a sacred ritual known as the Death Nuts Challenge.
“I really don’t have much to say other that I'm both scared and excited for tomorrow,” PPMan told the Bored Ape Gazette.
The Death Nut Challenge version 3.0 is a food challenge from Blazing Brands where competitors are dared to eat insanely hot nuts.

In total, there are 5 levels of hotness competitors are tasked to eat. The challenge culminates in the competitors eating the “death nut.”
This challenge is not for those with sensitive stomachs.

“The death nut is made with a new super-hot pepper distillate that is spray-dried into a powder form delivering a whopping 16,000,000 Scoville Heat Units,” according to the products Amazon description.
For context, Jalapeño peppers measure between 2,500–8,000 on the Scoville scale, and Ghost peppers measure between 855,000 – 1,041,427, according to pepperscale.com
Many in the BAYC believe that the “winner” of the last year’s Death Nut Challenge was PPMan. But the longtime BAYC member told the Gazette that there are no winners when it comes to death nuts.
“Btw (by the way), not sure who said that I ‘won’ .. I put hot sauce on top of my death nuts last year. wrong choice. definitely did not look like a W to me hahaha.”
This now annual tradition dates back to the early days of the BAYC and was created by BAYC member 0xWave; after he convinced a number of apes to do it with him, according to the club.
