The Yugaverse Celebrated Yuga Labs' Next Chief Technology Officer With A Copy Pasta!

A new copy pasta took over the Yugaverse on Friday as Bored Apes and Yuga Labs asset holders celebrated the fact that “The Otherside is being built by the people who built Fortnite.”

Members of the BAYC and the expanded Yugaverse never miss an opportunity for a good copy pasta; and today was no exception.

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Yuga Labs announced that Epic Games’ Current Executive Vice President of Development, Mike Seavers, will be taking over as the company’s next Chief Technology Officer.

"Mike has a proven track record of taking organizations to the next level, and he shares our vision for how important digital identity and community will be for the future of the internet," Yuga Labs’ CEO Daniel Alegre said in a press release. “We have an opportunity to be the web3 platform at the forefront of community and social engagement, through media and entertainment, and Mike's expertise will help us scale to achieve that.”

Seavers, who has spent the last two decades at places like Epic Games and Riot Games where he worked on projects like the Unreal Engine and Fortnite, is set to begin his new job at the swamp on May 22nd.

To highlight Seavers past experience with Fortnite and to celebrate him joining the swamp, Apes and Yuga Labs asset holders started a copy pasta inception chain where they would screenshot user's “The Otherside is being built by the people who built Fortnite,” Tweets and then post the screenshot along with their own “The Otherside is being built by the people who built Fortnite,” tweet over and over again!

Copy pastas have become a staple of the BAYC ecosystem in recent months. As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, three different copy pastas have gone viral around the swamp since March 2023.

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Seavers and the latest copy pasta trends from around the swamp. Stay tuned for updates!
