This AIP Aims To Create A Transparency Hub At The DAO&Have The Special Council Submit Weekly Reports

There is an Ape Improvement Proposal on the ballot this week that aims to make the DAO more transparent and give holders a better idea of the duties of a Special Council member!

AIP-305 titled ‘Establishing Special Council’s Accountability Practices’ is a process proposal written by ApeCoin DAO Contributor Moonlyght.

“This AIP proposes to add a transparent process to the position of Special Council members from AIP-1in the form of Weekly reports,” Moonlyght wrote. “Including all current, forthcoming and future terms detailed in AIP-137 and AIP-138 .”

In AIP-305, Moonlyght proposed that the ApeCoin DAO ask each Special Council member to complete a weekly report where they will explain what they did or accomplished that week.

Further Moonlyght proposed the creation of a ‘transparency hub’ on the DAO’s Discourse page.

“Weekly reports will enhance the ApeCoin ecosystem by fostering transparency and accountability,” Moonlyght wrote. “By sharing their tasks and achievements, the community gains awareness of each Special Council Member’s contributions, ensuring the most qualified individuals lead the DAO towards success. Increased awareness and communication lead to a stronger community and a better-positioned DAO.”

1. In a sentence or two can you sum up your AIP?

“AIP-305 proposes to add a transparent process to the position of Special Council members in the form of Weekly reports.”

2. What inspired you to write this AIP? Was there a moment or an instance that inspired you?

“I saw how powerful being accountable on a Daily/Weekly basis can be by experiencing it personally in my business. (If you stop for a second, and count what you do each hour of your day, you'll be amazed by how much time is wasted towards things that don't move the needle forward.)”

3. What does success for AIP-305 look like?

“Special Council members committing to fill the Weekly reports in a transparent and honest way so that the community has an overall increased awareness.”

4. What impact do you think AIP-305 will have on the DAO?

“I believe it will have massive impact. Not just for today but for years to come. Adding a process that increases transparency and accountability empowers the DAO and it's members, so that they can make more well-informed decisions to make the DAO successful.”

5. Where do you see this AIP a year from now?

“If things go great, I see this AIP being a benchmark for future positions and roles within the DAO, I also see it as a process that could be added to any AIP that successfully passes. How many AIPs have passed that we haven't heard about or the progress they have made (if any) after they've received the money? Only a few I'm sure, but being accountable I believe is a key component for success.”

6. Do you have anything else you’d like to add or say?

“I, Moonlyght, have a dream. Most people think of DAOs as a failed concept, but I want to see the ApeCoin DAO as the first DAO that truly succeeds and becomes the playbook on how a successfull DAO is launched/managed and operates. I believe we can only do that if we put no person above the DAO and truly execute not out of personal interest/ego but out of having a genuine care about the DAO and it's vision which is to drive culture forward through art, gaming, entertainment and events. This AIP is the first small step towards that dream."

The window to vote on AIP-305 is currently open and ApeCoin DAO Contributors have until Wednesday, September 27th, to cas their coins.
