The Bored Ape Yacht Club got a new member late Tuesday evening after a first time Opensea buyer purchased a gold fur ape for 73 Eth.
Opensea user, 6324E7, purchased Bored Ape #544 from Opensea user Vernon. Vernon was the original minter of the gold fur ape three months ago, based on Opensea data.
Not much is known about this mystery buyer, but the Bored Ape Gazette has learned that the funds came from a Coinbase account, based on the Etherscan.
Bored Ape #544 is a seven trait gold fur ape with wearing a tuxedo t shirt, sushi chef headband and an eye patch. Based on these traits, Bored Ape #544 is the 31st rarest ape, according to Rarity Tools.
The Bored Ape Gazette reached out to Vernon for comment after the sale, but did not immediately hear back. However, we did find a tweet from earlier this week where Vernon publicly announced Bored Ape #544 was for sale.
