TwelveFold Creator Michael Figge Shared Some Insights On The Vibe Of The Bitcoin Based Project
As the window to bid in Yuga Labsâ TwelveFold art auction opened this evening, the projectsâ creator took to Twitter and gave the community some insight on the 300-piece Bitcoin based generative art endeavour!
On Sunday, Yuga Labsâ Chief Content Officer and the artists behind the TwelveFold project, Michael Figge, took to Twitter and explained that he and Yuga Labs were inspired to create TwelveFold after they went down the ârabbit hole of Ordinals.â
âThe Ordinal Theory Protocol created a framework for identifying individual satoshis, the smallest individually identifiable units of a Bitcoin, by tracing back when that satoshi was minted in time,â Figge tweeted. âThat got us thinking about a collection of ordinal inscriptions that would explore the relationship between time, mathematics, and the blockchain.â
While the crypto community has only seen one of Figgeâs 300 TwelveFold pieces so far, the artist gave the Web3 space some additional insight on the vibe of the project.
âTwelveFold is a base 12 art system localized around a 12x12 grid,â Figge wrote. âThe collection of 300 inscriptions is made up of 25 different series of 12, each with their own motif. Each series maintains a theme spread across 12 unique pieces. Like crypto, the collection isn't so much linear but cyclical, with four different color palettes progressing throughout: winter, spring, summer, autumn. It's a nod to being optimistic whether we're in a Crypto Winter or a Defi Summer. Every TwelveFold piece will be inscribed onto a satoshi with a satpoint ending in the number 12, and the âpostageâ associated with each inscription will be 12121.â
Collectors have until tomorrow evening at 6 P.M. EST to participate in the TwelveFold auction. For more information on how to place a bid, check out Yuga Labsâ website here: https://twelvefold.io
