WAA-BAM: The ApeCoin DAO's Special Council Race Turned Into A Blowout After Two Candidates Dropped Out And Endorsed Waabam For $Ape Office

This summer’s ApeCoin DAO election season was anything but boring after two longtime Bored Ape Yacht Club members dropped out of the race and encouraged their voters to cast their coins for Waabam to ensure that a longtime Ape is on the board for another year.

After days of looking like the ApeCoin DAO’s Special Council race would come down to the wire, the election has turned into the most lopsided Special Council vote in DAO history after BAYC members JasonJape and Aaron Haber took to Twitter yesterday and encouraged their voters to cast their coins for Waabam.

 

 

After JasonJape and Haber effectively dropped out of the race, Waabam went from barely winning the second open seat to winning an outright majority of the DAO’s electorate.

“Wow! Huge thank you to @JasonJape and @AaronHaber for throwing their support behind me,” Waabam tweeted last night. “Thank you also to @kodama_eth and so many others who have provided their support over the last few hours. Seeing our community rally around long-standing community members is inspiring af. Our club has always been strongest when we move together and support one another. We are on the precipice of building some incredibly badass shit and finally getting ApeCoin back on track. I’ll have more to say about  @AaronHaber and  @JasonJape ’s campaigns when the election is over. For now I’ll say thank you my brothers and thank you everybody else for your support. It means the world and I won’t forget it”

 

 

Following this show of bored voting force in the $Ape ecosystem, longtime BAYC members took to Twitter and recommended that Club members band together and create their own voter delegation because ‘Apes together strong.’

As BAYC members got Waabam elected, Mohamed.Edu/Moca, who is likely to win the second open Special Council seat after winning the Mocaverse delegation vote last night, tweeted about how great it is to see longtime BAYC members coming together and getting involved at the ApeCoin DAO.

“It is great see Apes supporting each other to this degree and will only bode well for the future of ApeCoin DAO,” he tweeted.

Barring an unexpected turn of events, Waabam and Mohamed will be elected to the ApeCoin DAO’s Special Council when the polls close tonight at 9.
