Chimpers and Quirkies and Good Vibes, oh my!
Over the weekend, founder of VeeFriends and a longtime NFT bull Gary Vee, made some notable onchain moves, purchasing a pair of Chimpers, two Quirkies, and four Good Vibes Club NFTs, echoing a message he’s been preaching since a 2021, NFTs are forever but only a few will be sought after!
Along with making moves onchain, Gary stopped by NFT Space host Loki’s popular Saturday show to share his broader thoughts on the NFT market, comparing today’s environment to previous collectible cycles that eventually found new highs.
“NFTs are collectibles for the rest of everyone’s life in here, the end” Gary said on Spaces. “And I think that NFTs right now are just in the same place that many collectibles have been. Stamps, coins, trading cards, toys, they’re in a lull. This is a good one to end on, LEGOs were almost out of business 25 years ago. Then they started to do Star Wars and realized, oh shit, IP matters and their company exploded. So let there be no confusion, things can cycle back…. This is where we are at .NFTs are forever, NFTs are forever, NFTs are forever. Now the question becomes for all of us in 26 and 27, which are going to be the ones.”
Since the start of the new year, Gary has also been highly active on the timeline, tweeting frequently about VeeFriends and welcoming longtime NFT collectors into the community.
Gary even dropped a new personality quiz designed to help collectors find the VeeFriend that best matches them.
As the Gazette previously reported, Gary has been bullish on NFTs since before they became a global phenomenon. In November 2021, he famously purchased 59 CryptoPunks. His firm, VaynerFund, later became a seed round investor in Yuga Labs in March 2022. Today, Gary holds 62 CryptoPunks (including an Ape type), six Bored Apes, a Pudgy Penguin, over a thousand VeeFriends, multiple Meebits, Moonbirds, Otherdeeds, and more.
