The Bored Ape Yacht Club gave the community an update on the highly anticipated Trial of Jimmy the Monkey and announced a free interactive mint for BAYC and MAYC members in late January 2023.
It was another boring day around the swamp until the BAYC took to Twitter and announced that the Trial of Jimmy the Monkey begins tomorrow with a short film.
“Tomorrow, the trial of #JimmytheMonkey starts with a short film kicking off a new chapter in the lore of BAYC,” the club tweeted. “Pieces of the narrative will be released along the way. Pay attention to the signs, details might be important down the line. Keep these mints close, don’t let them fall into the wrong hands. The trial is the prologue to a series of activations coming over the course of next year.”
At the time of this article’s publication the NFT space does not know much about the Trial of Jimmy the Monkey other than its “some really weird shit.”
“Jimmy the Monkey is some really weird shit that we’ve been building towards for a very long time,” BAYC Co-Founder Garga said at Benzinga’s Future of Crypto Conference earlier this month. “There’s no way in hell anybody knows what we’re doing there. And that’s the point for that. We wanted to get back to some of the silliness, strangeness and fun and novel mechanics that we had earlier in the lifecycle of the BAYC and keep innovating in that space.”
The BAYC finished its six-part Twitter thread this evening by giving the community a look at its upcoming mint’s “tiers.”
“Pro-tip: When it comes to the mint, Apes (BAYC or MAYC) who also hold a BAKC will be in tiers of their own. There will also be an optional $APE spend mechanic, for those looking to enhance their minting experience,” the club wrote.
