Yuga Labs' Celebrated The One Year Anniversary Of The Twelvefold Collection Yesterday And Teased That Holders Will Get Their Physicals Soon

As the Yugaverse celebrated the one-year anniversary of the Twelvefold mint yesterday, the collection’s creator, Michael Figge, reflected on his Bitcoin journey and hinted that he and Yuga Labs have plans for the collection going forward!

On March 6th, 2023, Yuga Labs sold 288 TwelveFold pieces for 735 BTC Or $16.5 Million USD after a 24-hour auction. The top offer that Yuga Labs received for TwelveFold #1 was 7.1159 BTC or $159,611USD and the cutoff offer for TwelveFold #288 was 2.2501 BTC or $50,470 USD, according to the auction’s leaderboard.

Since the mint, Yuga Labs hosted 13 Twelvefold-inspired cipher puzzle games on the Bitcoin Blockchain, awarding 1.44 BTC and a Twelvefold piece to solvers and announced that every Twelvefold holder would eventually be able to claim a physical print of their work.

On the one-year anniversary of the collection’s mint, Twelvefold creator and Yuga Labs’ Chief Creative Officer, Michael Figge, took to Twitter and gave the community a sneak peek at the highly anticipated physical prints. He also shared that his Bitcoin journey started at Mount Gox and using Bitcoin to buy gift cards for Grand Theft Auto V. He also hinted that Twelvefold’s first year was just the beginning.

“It’s been 12 years since then,” Figge wrote while reflecting on his Bitcoin journey. “A lot has changed in web3. Just look at any of these receipts. We’re only a year into ordinals. A lot is going to change. TwelveFold was always meant to be a self-contained art project with no external dependencies and no roadmap. But that’s not going to stop us from shaking things up.”

While Figge did not specify when Twelvefold holders would be able to get their physical prints in his thread yesterday, Yuga Labs Co-Founder, Gordon Goner teased that Twelvefold collectors will be able to claim their physical prints later this month after he bought his first piece from the collection earlier this week.

“Finally got a TwelveFold,” Goner tweeted along with a photo of his  red white and pink bubble  work of art. “Fucking jazzed to claim my framed and signed print this month. Saw a sneak peak and they are (pinched Fingers emoji) @mfigge gonna be pissed if I tell you anything about the other stuff he's cooking.”

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Yuga Labs’ Twelvefold collection and will let you know when holders can claim their physical pieces and will keep you posted on what else Figge is ‘cooking’ for holders in 2024, stay tuned for updates!
