Yuga Labs CEO Garga Gave Apes An Update On The Bored Ape Yacht Club's IRL Clubhouse!

The Bored Ape Yacht Club has found a partner to help them make their dream of an Ape-themed version of the bar from Cheers a reality, and community members will soon be able to give their two Satoshis on everything from the menu to the venue!

On Monday, Yuga Labs CEO Garga was a guest on ApeCoin DAO Metaverse Working Group Steward Dim.Eth’s Meta Monday Space and gave everyone an update on the BAYC’s in-real-life clubhouse.

 

 

“The clubhouse has been on our roadmap for a very long time. The tricky part has been has making sure we have the best possible partner to work with on it,” Garga said. “We want to make sure that the day-to-day operators are people who are experts in the restaurant and bar scene and are able to manage it. We found somebody that we love and think will do an amazing job.  I know Jeff (Nicholas) and the team have a whole roll out to share that information and the kind of stuff that’s going into our thought process for folks to give their feedback as the build starts churning.”

As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the idea of an in-real-life clubhouse was first revealed as part of the BAYC’s Roadmap 2.0 in September 2022.

 

Since that initial post, the BAYC’s Creative Director, Jeff Nicholas, has been updating Apes about the clubhouse’s progress during the monthly Bored Meetings this year and has given the community an idea of the vibe Yuga Labs is going for.

 

“Think about it like a high-end dive bar,” Nicholas said in May. “I’ve been saying not so divey that your feet stick to the floor, but also not so high end that its uncomfortable. Dave on our team likes to say that we are not building Cheesecake Factory, we are not building Hakkasan. But it’s more like our real-life version of Cheers with a ton of member perks and great vibes. It’s going to be really really sick.”
