A WIZARDING YEAR!: The Zards Celebrate Their 1 Year Anniversary on ApeChain And Tease More Magic To Come!

A wizarding year is in the books as the Zards celebrate the anniversary of the project’s ApeChain mint with a look back at their time around the swamp and a look forward at the magic to come!

On November 6th, 2024, just weeks after Yuga Labs’ Michael Figge announced the launch of ApeChain at ApeFest Portugal, a collection of 5,000 pixelated wizards known as the Zards came to $Ape, minted out in minutes, and embarked on a mystical journey on this brand new chain!

 

“Building on ApeChain has been one of the most rewarding experiences due to the fact there's an amazing community who are there to support you,” the project's Founder Seb told the Gazette. “But also a team of people behind the chain who constantly platform projects and founders, which cultivates further creativity. I've always been the kind of person who feels most creative when I feel encouraged, and nowhere have I felt more encouraged than on ApeChain.”

 

In just a year, the Zards had its soft staking wizard training school up and running, launched the first ApeChain prize wheel, published a book titled ZardsStories: The Time of Shadows that's availbile on Amazon, and even made their way to the Otherside with 3D modeled avatars for all its holders!

 

“My favorite memory so far has to be seeing our Zard  as the first full pixel art project in the OtherSide,” Seb said. “Seeing our 2D Zards NFTs brought to life in full 3D. as a dream come true. Also getting a RT from  @GordonGoner or seeing Garga wear his Zard in the OtherSide was another favorite moment!.”

Looking ahead, Seb said he has big plans for the Zards and hopes to keep bringing magic onchain and in real life with another book, games, and more!

“Next up were looking forward to the imminent launch of Book 2 of our Zards Stories (The Fires of Narak Nör). No spoilers, but this one ties in perfectly to the OtherSide,” he teased. “In December we have our Zards Potions - FREE for holders who have been saving up their $ZARDS tokens. And in 2026 we have the launch of our Zards Dungeons MMO game, the build-out of our OtherSide Deed, and at least 3 more Zards Stories adventures. Maybe even a few other surprises!”
