AIP 137: The ApeCoin DAO Is Voting On A Nomination Process For Special Council Members This Week
After The Apecoin DAO voted to extend the Special Council’s term last month, a pair of Ape Improvement proposals pertaining to DAO elections are on the ballot this week.
The first of these two proposals is AIP-137 titled “The Special Council Nomination Process” written by an ApeCoin DAO’s administration team member, BTang.
“For the ApeCoin DAO to function and remain stable according to our Guiding Principles, there must be a system in place for continuous governance, BTang wrote. “This document outlines the process to allow talented, passionate and capable members of the community to surface and ultimately be appointed via governance vote for the Special Council. The nomination pool will be sourced through the community, administration team, and token holders by self-nomination in ApeCoin discourse.”
In AIP-137, BTang laid out a three-phase nomination process that, if passed, would begin next week on November 3rd.
Take a look at the proposed nomination process timeline here:

The first phase of the proposed nomination process is the “Application and Verification” phase. This phase will begin on November 3rd with a nomination announcement post. Then on November 7th, those who wish to run for a Special Council member seat will be able to submit their applications. The window for nominees to submit their information will remain open until November 20th. This phase will last 21 days, according to BTang’s proposal.
