The RTFKT plot thickens after Adam Weitsman confirmed that he did not buy the brand!

In the three days since Oregon’s local news outlet The Oregonian reported that Nike quietly sold RTFKT to an unknown buyer late last month, and ever since the timeline has turned into a full blown Web3 whodunit.
Collectors and community members. have been spinning theories that rival Stranger Things’ “Conformity Gate,” with threads speculating that notable Web3 leaders and even the luxury brand Louis Vuitton could be behind the purchase.
“For anyone thinking LVMH acquired @RTFKT, don't forget they minted 182 soul-bound Treasure Chest NFTs for €39,000 each,” BAYC member and crypto personality Xeer tweeted.

At the time of publication, the identity of RTFKT’s new owner remains a mystery. However, we can officially cross another name off the list after HV-MTL owner and NFT collector Adam Weitsman confirmed the rumors that he bought it weren’t true.
“Love the collection very much but the rumor that I purchased it is not true,” he tweeted.

With that, we now know that Weitsman, Yuga Labs, and Improbable did not purchase the brand, after all three confirmed they were not involved.
We also know the old RTFKT team isn’t behind the acquisition, according to former employee Jarlan Perez, who cryptically teased that no one has guessed the new owner correctly yet.
“I will say, I don’t think I’ve seen anyone guess it right yet,” he tweeted.
