Just south of the Great White North and a long way from the swamp, a group of Michigan based members of the Bored Ape Yacht Club recently got together at a sports bar for the first ever Michigan Apes Chapter meetup.

On Saturday, the beers, nachos, and vibes were as great as the Great Lakes surrounding the Wolverine State as BAYC member Doug and 14 frens from around the swamp gathered at a place called Robustos for a get together that was anything but boring.
"First-ever @BoredApeYC Michigan Apes Chapter meetup last night,” Doug tweeted. “Incredibly grateful for the knowledge this group as a whole has to offer. A couple of the guys couldn’t make it, but our group is growing rapidly. This is what the club is all about.”
“We got there, sat down, and the feeling of sitting there with my tribe was incredible,” Doug said. “Knowledge flowed like the Nile, anecdotes from the old days (some of us are ancient in crypto years), good food, drinks, and cigars. This club is something I've always wanted to be a part of, and I'm so grateful I was finally able to pull the trigger. All of you have been more welcoming to me than any community I've been a part of since 2021.”
Looking ahead, Doug says he plans to make his mark on BAYC both in real life and onchain by establishing the Michigan Apes Chapter and launching a project of his own.
“We're planning some pretty large things here in Detroit and in Web3,” he said. “My partner and I are launching a project by Apes for Apes. Lots of gud tek behind it. I built the majority of it myself. The Michigan Apes are planning an event here that you'll hear about soon.”
